THE VOICE AND SOUL OF THE LOST IN SPACE ROBOT

The Voice of the iconic Lost in Space Robot, Dick Tufeld, passed away on Sunday 22nd January 2012. A truly remarkable gentleman has been lost from the worlds of Irwin Allen.

Not only did he provide the voice, and indeed the soul, for the Robot, but also voiceovers for several other Irwin Allen productions including Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Time Tunnel. He also lent his voice to the Land of the Giants presentation reel which you can see on both the US and UK DVD releases.

The Robot spoke again in the guise of the cinematic release of Lost in Space in 1998, with a new look, but the voice was exactly the same. Dick also recorded robot voice clips for the benefit of the full scale B-9 Robot replica owners so his voice will continue to live on through the Robot in homes around the globe.

VOYAGE SEASON 4 DVD SURFACING IN THE UK

Here is the new Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea promotional video celebrating the release of the 4th season on DVD in the UK on 7th November 2011.

20TH anniversary

Wednesday 2nd November 2011 is the 20th anniversary since Irwin Allen passed away and to remember his many contributions to the field of entertainment, we are doing extensive studies of the Irwin Allen movies and are making several updates to the movie sections over the coming weeks.

To commemorate Irwin Allen's life and career, we have a new piece of artwork by A. Dutto called "The Irwin Allen Multiverse".

The Irwin Allen Multiverse

As mentioned previously, we are trying to put names to faces of all of the performers who appeared in Irwin Allen's movies. This has turned out to be a monumental task and we already have several people we cannot find the names for. For instance, does anyone know who played the President in The Return of Captain Nemo. Another mystery man is the cab driver who drops Fred Astaire's character off at the tower in The Towering Inferno. Does anyone recognize either of these actors?

HELP NEEDED WITH RESEARCH

The Cast of The Poseidon Adventure

The main focus of our efforts at the Irwin Allen News Network is to document the history of all of the Irwin Allen movies and television shows and this implies extensive levels of research. We are particularly trying to credit actors and crew who didn't receive on-screen credits in the productions.

We are also studying the movies, trying to identify as many people as possible who appeared on screen and this is proving to be a never-ending challenge. We have recently added a gallery of faces from The Poseidon Adventure and The Time Travelers amongst others and have several faces we cannot yet identify. If you can help with any of these missing names with corroborating pictures of the unnamed actors, please contact us.

Here's a challenge for the really serious movie buffs. Can anyone find us a photo of an actor by the name of Kermit Kegley? He had a Broadway background before appearing in Irwin Allen's first movie, Double Dynamite.

Stefan Arngrim, Don Marshall, Deanna Lund, Gary Conway, Heather Young and Don Matheson have recorded a really outstanding audio commentary which will appear on the second season DVD extras.
